Walbaum typeface
This modern serif is a thorough restoration of the 200-year-old design Walbaum, featuring a choice of superbly sculpted display shapes and hard-working text weights.
History of the Walbaum typeface
Justus Erich Walbaum’s modern typefaces, which he designed in Germany in the early 1800s, never received the attention or praise they deserved. The tragedy of the Napoleonic Wars, along with the terrible loss of Walbaum’s son and typefounding heir, Theodor, rendered his faces obsolete for nearly a century
